About the Team

As the Manager, Information Technology, you’ll lead a talented and dedicated IT team driven by a mission to deliver exceptional digital services. You’ll work closely with Darrel Laurendeau, our Director of IT to implement strategies that align with county-wide objectives and foster a high-performing, customer-focused culture.

Key Responsibilities

As the Manager of IT, you will be responsible for:
  1. Leadership
    • Recruit, mentor, and develop IT professionals to build a dynamic, high-performing team
    • Inspire and motivate staff to achieve strategic goals while fostering innovation and collaboration
  2. Strategic Alignment
    • Collaborate with the Director to shape and implement forward-thinking IT strategies
    • Drive technology initiatives that align with organizational objectives and deliver measurable impact
  3. Operational Excellence
    • Enhance IT service delivery through process improvements and the adoption of ITIL best practices
    • Oversee Helpdesk Operations, ensuring exceptional support and issue resolution
  4. Resource Management
    • Partner with the Director to manage budgets and allocate resources effectively, ensuring financial accountability
  5. Application Support
    • Oversee the administration and management of County applications within the IT Department’s scope
  6. Collaboration and Innovation
    • Champion user-centric solutions, collaborating with departments to deliver impactful programs and projects

What You Bring

Your Expertise:
    • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Business, or Engineering (Master’s preferred)
    • Certifications in ITIL v4 and COBIT 2019 are valuable assets
    • At least 5 years of progressive IT experience, including 3 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity
Your Skills:
    • Proven leadership in developing high-performing teams and driving strategic outcomes
    • Strong project management expertise, including Agile and Waterfall methodologies
    • Exceptional communication skills to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences
    • Analytical, organized, and results-oriented with a focus on customer service excellence

What We Are Offering

A salary range of $125,840 to $154,499 is just the beginning. The benefit package is second to none and the defined benefit plan of the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (O.M.E.R.S) is a pension system sought by many.

  • Strategic thinking and ability to align IT initiatives with organizational goals
  • Problem-solving and project management skills
  • Technical expertise and innovation in IT service delivery
The panel will include representatives from IT, HR, and the organization to ensure a holistic evaluation.

5. Case Study Presentation
As part of the panel interview, candidates will complete a brief case study to demonstrate their ability to develop and present strategic solutions to real-world IT challenges.


6. Offer and Onboarding
If selected, you’ll receive a formal offer outlining the terms of employment. Upon acceptance, our onboarding team will work with you to ensure a smooth transition, including introductions to your team, access to tools and systems, and a comprehensive overview of your first 90 days.
