For over 100 years the Sun Parlor Home has been offering long term care to the community of Essex County.  Our Mission is “to serve our community by providing supportive resident-focused care that promotes quality of life.”  As a not-for-profit municipally owned and subsidized long-term care home, with 206 beds, all of our resources are dedicated to our residents.

In A Nutshell:

As a member of the Life Enrichment Team, the incumbent will be responsible for the development and provision of therapeutic programs to individuals and/or small groups of residents. The program design and provisions will be based on the identified needs of individual residents. The incumbent will be expected to interact closely with the interdisciplinary team to facilitate continuity of individualized programming.

Members of the Life Enrichment department are required to provide programming in all 5 domains of Recreation.  Successful candidates will be able to display a high level of understanding in Recreation Therapy theory, practice and outcomes.

 

Day In the Life:

  • Flexibility if the key, meeting the needs of the residence
  • Following monthly event and daily activity calendars
  • Facilitation of group programs
  • One to one emotional support

What We Are Looking For:

  • Completion of university degree or 2-year community college diploma in Recreation Therapy or related field
  • Must have at least two years’ experience
  • Must be fluent in oral and written English
  • Must be capable of performing physically demanding job tasks

What We Are Offering

  • $26.19 per hour
