What You’ll Do
In this role, you will be responsible for:- Requirements Gathering and Analysis
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and objectives.
- Elicit, document, and analyze business requirements to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Process Mapping and Improvement
- Analyze and model current business processes using tools like flowcharts or BPMN diagrams.
- Identify areas for optimization and recommend improved processes to enhance efficiency.
- Documentation and Communication
- Develop functional specifications, process flows, use cases, and business rules.
- Clearly communicate findings, recommendations, and requirements to stakeholders and technical teams.
- Solution Design and Evaluation
- Work with IT teams to design technical solutions that meet business requirements.
- Evaluate and propose enhancements to systems and workflows to support business strategies.
- Change Management and Training Support
- Assist in implementing changes by coordinating with teams and facilitating user training.
- Provide support during transitions to new systems or processes, ensuring stakeholders understand the impact.
- Testing and Quality Assurance
- Develop and execute test plans to ensure solutions meet requirements.
- Collaborate with QA teams to identify defects and verify that changes do not negatively impact existing processes.
- Other Duties as Assigned
- Support various departmental initiatives and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
What You Bring
Education and Commitment to Growth:- College diploma or university degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or Information Systems.
- Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP)
- Certification of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA)
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Business Analyst in an IT environment.
- Experience working with business stakeholders to gather requirements, design solutions, and implement changes in a technology-driven context.
- Proven experience with process mapping and improvement methodologies (e.g., BPMN, Lean, Six Sigma) is an asset.
- Strong understanding of core business processes and operations.
- Proven expertise in business and technical requirements analysis, elicitation, modeling, and verification.
- Experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software, hardware, and system solutions.
- Ability to create detailed, consistent requirements specifications in both technical and user-friendly language.
- Proficiency in applying statistical and research methods to systems and processes.
- Strong project management skills, including knowledge of Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC).
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and creative thinking abilities.
- High attention to detail and a logical, efficient approach to work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- A valid Class “G” Ontario driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle for work-related purposes
- Ability to provide a Ministry of Transportation Driver Abstract and Police Information Check
